He mentioned that the Indian Army was in a strong position to drive out the Pakistani Army from PoK (Pakistan-occupied Kashmir) within two days, but this did not happen, and today Kashmir is not part of India. He blamed Nehru for this and even mentioned Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw during the discussion.

Here are the key points from Home Minister Amit Shah's statement:

  1. Amit Shah referred to a book at Nehru Memorial and mentioned that the then Prime Minister had admitted his mistake regarding Kashmir. He also spoke about a meeting between Sardar Patel and Nehru where the decision to send the army to Kashmir was made.

  2. Amit Shah stated that during Pakistan's invasion of Kashmir in 1947, Sam Manekshaw was present in a meeting. Nehru hesitated to send troops to Kashmir, and Patel questioned Nehru about whether he wanted Kashmir or not. After this meeting, the decision to send troops to Kashmir was taken.

  3. The Home Minister claimed that the Indian Army was in a strong position to capture the entire PoK, but Nehru ordered a ceasefire at the wrong time. He criticized Nehru's decision to take the Kashmir issue to the United Nations, calling it a significant mistake.

  4. Amit Shah asserted that the delay in the accession of Kashmir to India was due to Nehru's insistence on giving a special status to Sheikh Abdullah, providing an opportunity for Pakistan to invade.

  5. Regarding the recent Supreme Court verdict on the abrogation of Article 370, Amit Shah mentioned that the Congress party held a press conference stating that it was removed incorrectly. However, both houses of Parliament approved it, the President gave consent, and it became law.

  6. He highlighted the changes in the number of seats in Jammu and Kashmir after the recent delimitation process, emphasizing that the representation has been increased to better reflect the population.

  7. Amit Shah discussed the impact of terrorism in Kashmir, stating that the exodus of Pandits occurred due to terrorism. He criticized the Congress party for having a lax approach towards terrorism during Sonia Gandhi and Manmohan Singh's tenure.

  8. The Home Minister pointed out a significant reduction in terrorist incidents during the Narendra Modi government, claiming a 70% decrease in terrorism from 2014 to 2023 compared to the previous ten years.
