Manage Emoji Replacement' Feature in Latest Windows Update, a New Offering from Meta-Owned Messaging App

December 16: WhatsApp, the messaging platform owned by Meta, is introducing a new feature called 'manage emoji replacement' in its latest beta update for Windows (version 2.2350.3.0) available on the Microsoft Store. This feature allows beta testers to disable the text-to-emoji replacement option, offering users greater control over how their messages are conveyed, as reported by WABetaInfo.

To access this feature, users need to navigate to the app settings and check the general tab to see if the toggle for managing text-to-emoji replacement is available for their account. The introduction of this feature aims to preserve the original intent and tone of messages, acknowledging that automated emoji replacements might not always align with users' preferences for clarity and precision in their chosen symbols.

"This new feature will be gradually rolled out to more users over the coming days," the report mentioned, ensuring wider accessibility beyond the initial beta testers. Users who don't find the update on the Microsoft Store can expect to receive it soon.

In addition to this, WhatsApp has recently launched the ability to pin messages in chats, including text, polls, images, and emojis. However, users can pin only one chat at a time. This feature is now in the process of rolling out to users. WhatsApp explained that the option to pin messages helps users save time by easily locating important messages in both group and one-on-one chats. The pinned messages, inclusive of various types such as text, polls, images, and emojis, are end-to-end encrypted, ensuring privacy and security.

As WhatsApp continues to enhance user experience through these updates, the introduction of customizable emoji replacements and the ability to pin messages reflects the platform's commitment to providing users with more control and convenience in their messaging interactions.
