Yes, following the success of 'Drishyam', Ajay Devgn is now bringing the sequel to 'Raid'. The official announcement and release date of 'Raid 2' came to light on Saturday when the film went on the floor. Ajay Devgn will return as IRS Officer 'Amay Patnaik' in 'Raid 2', which is scheduled to hit the screens on November 15 this year.

Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, who also helmed the first 'Raid' movie, the announcement was made by T-Series on their social media handle, stating, "The wait is over! Ajay Devgn is back as IRS Officer Amay Patnaik in 'Raid2', ready to bring another true case to the big screen on November 15, 2024."

'Raid' Based on True Events

According to the makers, the shooting of the film commenced on Saturday in Mumbai. The extensive filming is planned across various locations including Mumbai, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan. The 2018 film 'Raid', also starring Saurabh Shukla and Ileana D'Cruz, was based on real-life income tax raids conducted in the 1980s.

Saurabh Shukla played the role of a corrupt MP who had hidden his black money in unusual places like ceilings, walls, and a specially constructed pillar. Ileana D'Cruz portrayed Ajay's wife in the film. The film also featured a popular song by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, 'Sanu Ek Pal Chain', which became quite a hit.

The anticipation for 'Raid 2' is high, as audiences look forward to another gripping tale of righteousness and drama, with Ajay Devgn at the forefront, bringing another real-life inspired story to the silver screen.
