The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has included the name of AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh in its second chargesheet in the Delhi Excise Policy case.
The chargesheet alleges that Arun Pillai’s associate Abhishek Booinapalli was a part of the group interested in investing in the Delhi alcohol policy, and that this group had a lot of money, political connections, and a friendship with Arvind Kejriwal.
Vijay Nair had told Samir Mahendru that Arun and his group were eager to invest in the Delhi alcohol policy because of their wealth, political connections, and friendship with Arvind Kejriwal.
In order to verify Vijay Nair’s credibility, Samir Mahendru had asked him to arrange a meeting between him, Kejriwal, and Nair, which Nair had done.
Meeting with Sanjay Singh and Manish Sisodia
Initially, Sanjay Singh had a meeting with Samir Mahendru, after which he contacted Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia to establish contact with the AAP.
ED alleges that Dinesh Aroda told them that on Sanjay Singh’s instructions, he arranged for 82 lakh rupees to be given to Manish Sisodia for the party fund, which was used in the Delhi election.
Dinesh Aroda had said in his statement that he spoke to his immediate superior Manish Sisodia 5-6 times, and that he met with Arvind Kejriwal once at Sanjay Singh’s residence.
The ED is investigating whether Sanjay Singh and others were involved in a money laundering scheme and other illegal activities related to the Delhi Excise Policy.
AAP denies allegations
The AAP has denied all allegations and called them politically motivated. They have accused the central government of using the ED to target the opposition party.
The party has also accused the BJP of being involved in the Delhi Excise Policy scam, and has called for a thorough investigation into the matter.
The case is ongoing, and the ED is continuing its investigation into the allegations.
